About Me

Game Designer · Mentor · Gamer

Game Design Lead with 10 years of experience.

Working on hit titles such as Minecraft, Candy Crush, Farm Heroes Saga, Chrome Valley Customs and Squad Busters.

I’m a passionate and experienced game designer with a strong track record of delivering engaging gameplay, successful live features, and high-performing content across mobile and console titles. I bring a blend of creative vision and data-informed decision-making, collaborating closely with cross-disciplinary teams to craft systems and experiences that excite players and drive results.

From concept through launch and live ops, I take pride in shaping gameplay that’s not only fun and polished but also contributes meaningfully to player engagement and business success. I’m also committed to mentoring others and fostering a collaborative, high-performing design culture.

I mentor and coach students looking to break into the games industry. As a result, I have released a book, The Game Industry Guide: Unlocking a Successful Career in Games. In addition, I own a property investment company, Hearth Properties, where I buy, renovate and sell houses.

The games I keep coming back to

I’m drawn to games with strong progression, strategic choices and the feeling that there’s always something new to master. Looter shooters such as Destiny 2 and The First Descendant, roguelikes such as Dead Cells, Hades and Vampire Survivors, and competitive games such as League of Legends and Brawl Stars are the games I return to most.

I’m just as happy around a table. Twilight Imperium, Dune Imperium, Dominion, Star Realms, Avalon, Blood on the Clocktower and Werewolf all scratch that love of strategy, deck-building and social deduction. On mobile, I keep a close eye on Genshin Impact, AFK Arena, Clash Royale and Royal Match.

What excites me about game design

I love creating responsive, skill-driven core gameplay and progression that makes players feel increasingly capable. Gaining better loot, levelling up, unlocking abilities, creating a build and customising a character or base should all contribute to a rewarding journey with a strong end game.

I’m especially interested in collaborative raids, exploration, secrets and team mechanics; diverse enemies, bosses and environments; and systems that balance depth with simplicity. The best games ask players to make meaningful decisions—what cards, buffs or abilities to take, how to build a team, and when to bribe, bluff or betray another player.

Whether the experience is on console, PC, around a table or free-to-play mobile, I’m most excited by games that offer satisfying decisions, strategic play and a clear sense of growth.
